Expectations for Community Center Assistants

 

  • Respect

    • For one another – be kind; address all concerns directly and privately; do not gossip

    • For the community –  keep the office clean; respect all members of the community; honor confidentiality

    • For the department – follow policies and procedures; defend the honor of your title; do not abuse your power

    • For your supervisor – interact professionally; be honest; communicate any concerns directly; say “hi” when you pass by

    • For your job – put effort into all that you do; complete tasks to the best of your ability; do everything with purpose and intentionality; respect confidentiality

 

  • Communication

    • Check your mail daily; respond to emails, phone calls, and texts promptly

    • When disagreements arise, attempt to address them directly before bringing issues to supervisors; own up to your mistakes; don’t hold grudges

    • Have open communication between RLC, RAs, CCM, and CCAs – we are one team

    • Keep RLC informed about building/staff issues so that they can be properly addressed

 

  • Time

    • Be on time to shifts and meetings

    • Meet established deadlines and clearly communicate the need for more time

 

  • Growth

    • Ask questions and ask for help when you need it

    • Be flexible and open to compromise

    • Strive for continuous improvement – be open to learning new things

    • Remember that you are a student first

    • Make time for yourself – having a healthy work life begins with keeping yourself healthy

    • Have fun – keep a positive attitude, enjoy this job, and have pride in our community
